Gobustan and Mud Volcano tour

Visit: Gobustan Rock Art, 60 km South of Baku, Baku Azerbaijan

Journey starts with pick up from your hotel / accommodation. You will be provided with basic pre-visit information. The average travel from Baku to Gobustan area will take 30-50 minutes, depending your hotel location.

Once you reach Gobustan area, you will feel like time-traveling to several thousand year ago. You will see stands, pictures and other relic items which will give you broad information about the place itself, the people who used to live there, their lifestyles. Also, you will get a chance to see wall drawings of ancient people. Such wall drawings open a type of window to their day-to-day life. Scenes of hunting, gathering plants, dancing etc. You will also see an interesting stone called "Gavaldash" which makes a music-like sound when hit by smaller stone.

After visiting Gobustan museum, you will move further to see mud volcanoes. These are the same as volcanoes but mud flowing from them, instead of lava. Mud volcanoes are interesting landmarks of nature, and 80% of them are located only in Azerbaijan. So, there is small chance to see them in any other place on Earth. You must have some small walking to reach Mud Volcano area.

Note: In rainy weathers the Mud Volcano tour is being canceled, due to not accessibility of the area for driving. In such cases %10 off booking price will be returned.
