Damnoen Saduak is a village located about 105 kms west of Bangkok. This tour operates early in the morning as it is the best time to witness the market in full swing. You’ll love the calm serenity here and the gorgeous colors of all the tropical fruits.

The area is famous for Malacca grape, Chinese grapefruit, mangoes, bananas, and coconut. The Floating Market is routinely crowded with hundreds of vendors and purchasers floating in their small rowing boats selling and buying or exchanging their goods. What they purchase are particularly food, fruit and vegetable which are mostly brought from their own orchards and arrive on their small rowing boats.

Our experienced English speaking guide will accompany you throughout the trip. We take you in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle the Damnoen Saduak village. Once at the market, you can view the market from the platform. You can hire a private boat at the market to freely see the market (at additional cost). This gives you another persepctive of what life is like at this incredible market. You will weave through narrow canals and marshes on long-tailed speedboats, witnessing vendors selling local Thai goods giving you a glimpse of everyday life in traditional Thailand.

It was a disaster: they told us they would come and pick us up from our hotel very early in the morning and we got ready to be in time, but they only showed up an hour and a half later and after we had made a few phone calls to make sure that they were coming. I wonder what would have happened if we hadnt called them... Very disappointing. Besides, we arrived to the place, we were dropped off there by a driver that couldnt speak English and we didnt know what exactly we were expecting. We just followed the crowds and only when we arrived to the market, we met our guide for 2 minutes, and Im not exaggereting, because he said he was busy with another group.

This was fun and worth doing, even if you don't buy anything. If you do, be prepared to haggle. I bought a lovely dress from the adjacent dry-land market I felt less rushed and less as if I were inconveniencing other passengers.

The trip was too far away from Bangkok and the time at the Floating Market itself was too short. I would've preferred to skip the zoo altogether and spend more time at the market. The aircon in the van was not nearly strong enough and I was carsick on both the way to the market and on the way back.

You get what you paid for with this tour bus you're on isn't particularly comfortable and our guide spoke limited English. There is also a stop to this random "amusement park" on the way back that has an elephant trek and other things. Which added another 1.5hrs.
