Your tour then drives you to the heart of the beachside town of Playa del Carmen, the famous 5th Avenue shopping district. Arrive at sunset, when the strip really starts to come alive with lights and color. Take your time strolling, shopping, and dining on 5th Avenue.Before leaving, visit the Tequila Museum and sample some of this strong, delicious local spirit.

The tour consists of a bug to Tulum, where they turn you over to a Federal guide for a quick tour. Then a ride back to Playa del Carmen to the Tequila museum for a quick tequila history. The bus operator has many suggestions for eating here or there I assume a paid promotion. The bus was over-crowded by 1 person, so it started uncomfortable. My adult companions commented that taking a taxi to Tulum and hiring a guide would have been a better experience. Tulum is a fantastic site but we did not learn much.

Tulum was beautiful. We had about 2 hours in Tulum and then we went to Playa del Carmen. 5th avenue is really touristy with lots of shops that you can find in Canada/US and also a great place to pick up some souvenirs but probably overpriced.
