A great tour with a good variety of stops and sights. The scenery was amazing, the guesthouse comfortable and the sights worth seeing. The best aspect of our tour was our driver/guide Caitlin. Her enthusiasm, knowledge, stories and story telling ability were brilliant and she interspersed her narrative with music that fitted the history or place. She was without doubt the best guide I have ever had on a tour and her driving ability astounded us all.
This was the highlight of our 2 week UK trip. It is a lot of time in a bus but the castles and the scenery were worth it. A place like no other. The coach travel was comfortable. The opted for the hotel and stayed in a fantastic place on Portree Harbor. Our guide/ coach driver was fabulous.
Tours always depend on the guide. Rich was fun and informative as well as flexible. Isle of Skye and highlands were breathtaking (great weather during a heat wave too) However I would skip the "Hogawarts express" It looks cool on the outside so if you can catch it in the stations, take pics there. But the ride is in older club cars (not sleepers) without a/c and the view (aside from the 15 second Roman terrace section) is obscured by close cropped trees or hills for most of the trip.
#fionasbus A great tour with Fiona, our guide and driver, with a wonderful itinerary and accommodations. It was a great way to see a lot of Scotland in 3 days. Finona made the trip very personal--providing us with carrots to feed the Highland Coos, the Scotland flag for some unforgettable pictures and other numerous personal touches along the way. Enjoyed every bit of this tour.
We had never been on a tour before. We took the three day Skye and Highlands tour and had an amazing time. We were on a small 14 person bus which was great for getting to know everyone. Our driver, Duncan was very knowledgable on Scottish history and had wonderful stories and coordinating music to every location that we stopped at. The trip couldn't have been better! I would do it again and will suggest it to anyone who wants to see beautiful Scotland.
When we started planning our trip to Scotland, my husband and I debated about what would be the best way to see these more remote areas- rent a car, ride trains, or book a tour. We're so glad we did it this way! Our bus was a brand new looking blue Mercedes and our driver/guide was Lee. We were very comfortable on the bus and enjoyed being able to relax and just enjoy the scenery. Lee took us to places we never would have found on our own and his enthusiasm and Scottish pride was contagious. This was by far our best tour experience in all our travels. We had a great group (all adults) from the US, UK, Australia and India. We stayed in the Rosebank Cottages (B and B) in Portree, which was simple but comfortable and included a full Scottish breakfast. Our highlights were Dunvegan Castle and the Jacobite Express train ride. An all-around great experience!
This was a wonderful tour of the highlands and the isle of Skye. One thing that made it so great was our guide Sergio. He was full of great stories, and knowledgeable about history. His positive and friendly spirit was such a plus. He was constantly paying attention to the needs of the group and making any requests come true. The tour was at a good pace and we saw so much. It definitely gave a good taste of the areas.
