Canyoning on Madeira Island with 4x4 Ride from Funchal

Start your day with a morning pickup from your central Funchal accommodation. You'll head out to Funchal Ecological Park's Chão da Lagoa, which stands about 4,921 feet (1,500 meters) high, to begin the canyoning portion of your adventure.

You will come across two rappels that take you down into the canyon, with help from your guide. Upon landing, you can swim in the awaiting lagoons, then break for lunch at a local bar, where you're served a traditional Madeiran steak sandwich.

After lunch, hop into an open-top 4x4 vehicle for an off-road drive around Madeira Island. Your guide takes the old roads, including forested terrain, rarely used by visitors. Get to know the flora and fauna of the island. See Santo da Serra and Santa Cruz, observing local cultural influences and learning about the history of these areas. Once your 4WD tour is over, you will be returned to your hotel.
