The history the guide told us at various points around the area was fine but the sun was unbearable. Best part and coolest, literally, is last half hour underground and cool.
We took the 90 minute City of David underground tour and it was amazing!! Our guide was brilliant and really knew her stuff, including reading passages from the Bible in both Hebrew and English that were appropriate to the section of the tour we were standing at which really brought it to life - she even told us about real factual evidence that had been discovered that is actually described in the Old Testament I wont spoil the surprise by telling you. Then you get to walk through the ancient drainage system dating back to King Herod and see evidence of market stalls and the foundations of the Western Wall - Brilliant!!!!
We went to the ticket booth in the City of David with our receipt. The woman at the booth told us where to meet the tour guide. We had a wonderful time traveling from the City of David to the Western Wall. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and I learned a lot of information. Thank you for an amazing tour!
The underground part of the visit was good but only lasted 30 minutes, A further 60 minutes was spent listening to a history lesson. I paid for this trip before I left via the internet only to be told when I arrived to pick up my wristband that I had only paid a deposit and I had to pay in order to go on the visit. After arriving home I checked my credit card statement only to find that I have now paid twice for this tour. I have the receipt for the amount paid at the office in Jerusalem.
