Stop At: Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, 28500 Malaysia
The National Elephant Conservation Center at Kuala Gandah was established in 1989 as a base for locating, subduing and trans locating elephants where their habitat has been encroached upon. The Center educates and creates public awareness on endangered species.
On reaching the Elephant Sanctuary, photo shoot session of the baby, orphaned and rogue elephants in their enclosures. You will love them. WWF, MNS and a Tea Plantation work closely in the conservation of these endangered species.

ICONIC BATU CAVES Climb 272 steps into the temple of Hindu Deity Lord Subramaniam who is honored during Hindu festival Thaipusam. Devotees give thanks for vows fulfilled. Ladies to be properly attired to enter the temple - knees and shoulders need to be covered.
BANANA LEAF LUNCH An Indian cultural encounter and a take-home experience - having to eat wioh fingers.

ADORABLE SILVERED LEAF MONKEYS The adorable Silvered Leaf Monkeys are slender, intelligent grey colored, live in social groups, found in coastal mangrove forests in Kuala Selangor. Photo shoot as they forage for food as in fruits, young shoots, nuts and young leaves.
After a frolicking time with the monkeys, adjourn to a riverside restaurant for fresh Seafood dinner.

DAZZLING FIREFLIES are Lightning Bugs as they shine brightly at nite to attract a suitable partner. They come out at dusk for feeding, resting and to make love daily. Their synchronous light flash is produced by a biochemical reaction in their light organs situated on their bottoms. A sight to behold and silence to prevail !
The boat ride to watch fireflies in all their dazzling best as in a Christmas tree is one exhilarating ride.

Visiting he Batu Caves is the cultural highlight! Feeding the elephants and their babies is the emotional highlight. Playing with the monkeys is the funny highlight! The fire flies are the highlight in the dark! BUT the Title of the tour is wrong! There was a 5th highlight on our tour named THURAI - our excellent, funny, friendly and full of knowledge guide!!!! For us a MUST BOOK!
Longish drives between attractions but what a lovely day out. We got to feed elephants and monkeys, took in some culture at Batu caves and marvelled at the fire flies. All in all a great full day. We had an excellent guide Ram, he certainly knew his stuff and made the day.
This tour was one of the best tours on my trip to Malaysia. I booked this tour via Viator in the U.S. I had a little anxiety how the outcome might turn out! On my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. They had excellent communications and time management. Ram, the tour guide was exceptional. He was on time and very knowledgeable of the history of Malaysia, culture, and ethnicity. He introduced us to Malaysian food, fruits, and snacks. I highly recommend this package for a one day adventure in Kuala Lumpur.
We had the pleasure of having Thurai as our guide. There is some driving involved but Thurai made the tour very informational and fun. We saw many things including an additional bonus stop to buy some local fruit. You can’t go wrong with this tour!
This tour was amazing!
My tour guide John and new recruit Robert were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure I saw everything I wanted to. I was alone on the tour but enjoyed their company and learned a great detail about Malaysia from them both. We covered everything on the itinerary and more. This was well worth the money. It's a very long day, but they really cram a lot in. I'm not sure the elephant sanctuary was what I expected - it felt more like a zoo with only elephants to show, but I'm sure many people would enjoy it nevertheless. I would definitely recommend doing this especially if you have limited time to see everything.
A long day and a lot of driving but still worth it. John was an amazing guide and we had a lot of fun.
This was a long but thoroughly enjoyable day out which gave us a real impression of Malaysia outside of Kuala Lumpur. Our guide Ram was there early at our hotel to pick us up and took pains throughout the day to make sure we had everything we wanted. Batu Caves were fascinating, the elephants were lovely, the monkeys were cheeky but quite charming. Our dinner location was stunning, beside a wide river watching the tropical sun go down. The ride upriver in the dark was exhilarating and the fireflies performed beautifully. As well as the official sites this tour covers a lot of ground and you get a good impression of the various landscapes of the country. Ram was a knowledgeable from whom we learned a lot. Highly recommended.
