After enjoying the breathtaking Golden pavillion, we take a walk in the garden.

You can walk inside the powerful Shogunate castle with images of samurais in your head.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi, Kyoto 612-0882 Kyoto Prefecture

Walking through many Torii gates, we may be able to get our wish!

Our guide was not Japanese, but definitely well versed in all the history, articulate, interesting made the day exactly what we wanted. We are not the average tourist, so he accommodated our itinerary to visit and explore just what we wanted adding in the personal touch of his own experiences of living in Japan.

We had a great young man as our tour guide. He was prompt at our hotel. He had great command of the English language and was very entertaining. He had great knowledge of the area and knew a lot of the history from the Samurai to the Geisha's. We went to a samurai demonstration and had a great barbeque lunch.

Extremely pleased with our guide, who really gave us an insiders' look at Kyoto, as well as the must-see sites. He was Slovakian, lived in Kyoto and spoke perfect Japanese. I'm sorry I can't remember his name, but he must be the only Slovakian as such there. If you've got just a day or two to see Kyoto, a private custom tour is the way to go.

Juraj was very knowledgable on the history of the sites we requested and attended, Sanjūsangen-dō, Kiyiomizudera Temple and the Heian Shrine. He went at our pace, and was flexible with the itinerary, and even helped us translate when we decided to do some shopping! He also offered helpful insights and recommendations for the rest of our time in Japan, and went out of his way to escort us all the way to our afternoon activity, staying with us a bit longer the scheduled time. Thanks again Juraj!
