Observe the ancient art of Xávega, a traditional fishing method still practiced today.

Xávega involves a group of fishermen in a row boat letting down the nets to surround the shoals, then pulling them to the beach with the help of bulls or mechanical means. While watching the men work, learn about the process of publicly auctioning fish caught separately and listen to the fishermen's tales of their adventures.

After the Xávega experience, head to a seaside restaurant for a delicious meal of grilled or stewed fish from an earlier catch. Enjoy traditional Portuguese music during dinner and participate in the making of the delicious meal if desired.

The tour is very good. We were able to see how the Xavega Fisherman work and enjoying the fishes from their catch. The dinner on the beach is good too and we were able to catch the sunset.
