Stop At: Zona Arqueologica Teotihuacan, Ecatepec Piramides km.22 + 600, San Juan Teotihuacan 55800 Mexico
Your guide meets you early in the morning, head just 30 miles (48 km) from Mexico City to Teotihuacan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Commonly referred to as the City of the Gods, this pre-Columbian Mesoamerican city is known for its well-preserved murals, vast Avenue of the Dead and the impressive pyramids that mark its landscape.
Arrive at the archeological park before the crowds in the early morning just as it begins to open its gates. Take in the serene and mystical atmosphere as your group meanders through large empty plazas in the absence of the crowds and explore the pyramids. Follow your guide to a variety of less-visited monuments in the complex as well as to famous structures like the Palace of Quetzalpapalot and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl – also called the Temple of the Feathered Serpent – the third largest pyramid at Teotihuacan.
View the intricate murals and other architectural details as your knowledgeable guide explains their archeological significance, shares information on the latest discoveries, and tells stories about the culture that inhabited this ancient city.
Climb the steep steps to the top of the Sun Pyramid and the Moon Pyramid – the principal axis of Teotihuacan. From the summit, view the lengthy Avenue of the Dead, the mile-long (2.5 km) road that divided the city and extended from the Moon Plaza in the north to the Great Compound in the south.
Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
Stop At: Tlacaelel, Circuito Arqueológico de las Pirámides de Teotihuacán Entre puerta 1 y 2, Purificacion, 55800 San Juan Teotihuacan de Arista, Méx., Mexico
To complete this experience in this impressive site, you’ll stop in an obsidian workshop with a truly Teotihuacan family, where you will be offered tastings of liqueurs made from cactus as well as tequila, mezcal and pulque.
Right there you will take the lunch (not included) which by the variety of dishes and its Mexican traditional flavor is in itself another great experience before your guide delivers you back to the central meeting points.

The tour needs to arrive in time to see the sunrise over the pyramids. We are not "tour" people, normally doing our own thing. This tour did not change our minds. It was more convenient for us. The tequilla tasting was fun but the meal that followed was way below avaerage.
Excellent tour led by Leonardo. He was very knowledgeable and had excellent insight on the ruins. The early tour beats the crowd and the heat. Make sure you allow for enough time to get to the meet up point. It isn't their fault if you get left behind. Professional team and highly recommended.
I thought I'll be picked up from my Hostel but it was not the case. By the time I realized that it was too late already...
Our guide was Gerson, and he was great. Made our tour very memorable with some interesting facts about Teotihuacan that I never would have known. He made the tour fun and was very personable. Teotihuacan is also amazing, a must see if you come to CDMX.
The early pick-up was a great way to access the site before the crowds arrive. There were options to grab a juice and pastry around the corner before the bus left. The guide at the ruins was super, if a little quirky. He seemed to know his stuff and was happy to share and explain. Of course, the ruins are simply amazing. The alcohol tasting was pleasant enough, and the lunch was adequate, though not impressive, but this whole end of the experience was a bit touristy for my tastes, and would have been time better spent at the site museum, which was completely ignored.
Guide was very knowledgeable and it was a great atmosphere!!!! Ride there was very joyful sense they explained everything we were seeing
I gave 5 stars because the tour exceeded expectations. Ivan gave a wonderful historical account of the Pyramids. We had much time to explore, as well.
Great guides! Great trip! Great experience overall! We were a group of 7 (4 adults, 2 older kids and a 6 year old), we all loved this tour!
My best friend and I went on this tour together during our visit to Mexico City. We absolutely loved it. Gabriel was our tour guide — he is very knowledgeable about archeology and history and made the tour really great. He also had a good sense of humor and wasn’t kind. I particularly enjoyed that the tour was in both Spanish and English. Would recommend to all, just remember to wear lots of sunscreen!!
Excellent experience with a truly enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide! She was extremely tentative and had comprehensive answers to every question; everything ran on time!!
This is a must for anyone interested in Mexican history. The tour is well organised and our guide Gerson was very well informed and warmed to his subject. The buses are fine if a bit basic. The lunchtime stop was very good with a choice of buffet or a la carte. There was a no obligation demonstration of local products and a shopping opportunity at a local cooperative, but these were low key and enjoyable.
When in Mexico city this trip is a must. Not giving it a 5 only because one of the two tour guides called in sick and so we were delayed and our tour poor guide had to present the whole trip himself. But he did a great job. Do the morning tour, less people, no lines and avoid the burning mid-day sun
We did the early morning teotihuacan pyramids tour with Gabriel on Dec. 22. It was a fantastic day. Gabriel in incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour extremely interesting. He was very attentive of guests needs and paced the day so that everyone could feel comfortable. He was able to answer all of my many questions and gave our family an amazing insight into the culture and civilization of Teotihuacan. He provided great information all the way there to the sight so we learned a great deal about Mexico City as well. Thank you so much for a fantastic day. I'd recommend this tour to everyone!
Great concept --- leave early and beat the traffic and the crowds and the heat. Wonderful guide. Disappointing finish with a bad lunch and typical push to sell overpriced stuff to tourists.
Good trip with a good explanation and detail. I will highly recommend this tour. Driver and tour guide were the best!!
I have had some amazing tours via Viator, and saw this particular one had great reviews. It was described as an English speaking tour with an archaeologist. This tour is definitely not 100% English. There was a mixed crowd of English and Spanish speakers, and the guide went confusingly between the two languages saying one sentence in English and then the next in Spanish. It made it pretty hard to follow. It also was much longer than it needed to be as we waited a fairly long amount of time at each pickup location, a gas station stop, and eventually a lunch/pitch stop at a restaurant/mezcal location with a gift shop. I wish I had followed a friends' advice to book a private tour or just book a car to go by yourself. It would save you precious time in Mexico City.
Wonderful tour guide and experience. Be prepared to walk!
