Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Borgo Storico di Manarola, Manarola Italy
Leaving Milan, you arrive directly at the Cinque Terre and via a scenic route on the coast you reach Manarola. Here you'll have free time to venture around the vineyards, stroll the piers where fishing boats line the shore or watch the locals and the tourists jumping into the sea from the rocks of the harbour!
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Footpath Monterosso - Vernazza, 19016 Monterosso al Mare Italy
Right before lunch time you catch the train to Monterosso al Mare, the biggest of the five villages, where you will have time to explore and visit the beaches dotted along the coast. Despite the number of tourists, there is still a real sense of local identity even in the most tourist-crammed little ‘piazze'. Restaurants, bars and accommodation all have an endearingly homespun air about them as though when the locals saw tourists coming, they found a few garden chairs to stick on their terrace, hand painted a sign and began serving customers.
Duration: 2 hours
Pass By: Cinque Terre Trails, Riomaggiore to Monterroso Italy
During your free time, if you wish, you will able to explore the beginning of some of the trails leading inside the Cinque Terre national park.
Pass By: Parco Naturale Regionale di Porto Venere, Via Garibaldi, 9, 19025, La Spezia Italy
From Monterosso you will start the final leg of your journey, probably the most inspiring, a 90 minutes boat cruise. The perfect way to admire the stunning views of the Cinque Terre and the delightful village of Portovenere from the sea. After this memorable experience, you will arrive at La Spezia where your coach will be waiting to take you back to Milan.

This is a nice escape from the City. While in no way comprehensive it is a glance and if you are pleased I am sure you would return on your own. The tour went very smooth and well timed. I would probably opt for a lounge and swim verses at sit down lunch at Monterosso. I did buy the special shaped pasta of the region and enjoying it back here in Nor Cal
We truly enjoyed our time on this tour. Super organized. Small group (less than 20). Well trained tour leader. Effective use of time. The only suggestion I would make viator is in the description to put to bring bathing suits and towel. We had a good hour to spare and in the heat of summer we would have enjoyed to go in the Mediterranean and cool off but since we didn’t know that was a possibility we didn’t bring any bathing suits or towels with us. Wish we knew.
The Milan to Cinque Terre day trip was just as advertised. Our guide was good and we got to visit two of the five cities in Cinque Terre. The scenery is beautiful and I easily could have spent more time there. The only negative was that on the day we went it was windy and as such all the boat rides were cancelled in Cinque Terre, that meant that instead of taking a boat back and getting to see all the small towns from the water we had to take the train back. Even though the train runs along the water, you are in a tunnel almost he entire time and therefore cannot see any of the towns.
This was a wonderful experience! Inna the tour guide was amazing. Because of her and her sweet personality I would definitely book with a tour through Viator again. Thanks for a wonderful memory and beautiful experience.
We didn't have a lot of time for traveling around in Italy. Having a chance for a day trip to CinqueTerre was great. A nice change of pace from visiting cities and our driver and guide were professional and pleasant. We appreciated the mix of information and free time. Obviously, if you have more time, you can visit and hike and swim for days...but if you've only got a day...this is the perfect way to do it. The day is long but...definitely worth it.
A trip to Cinque Terre is an all day affair but it's worth it. There is a short train ride and a boat ride back to the bus. The boat ride is horrible. It's really overcrowded with people standing and sitting on the floor for 2 hours! Unacceptable! Add more boats or stop using these boats on this tour. I asked the workers on the boat if they would like to stand for 2 hours or sit on the floor...I complained. Unbelievable.
A bit rushed only due to seas being poor and subject to trains and schedules. Good full day and tour guide excellent. Amazing bus ride.
Not very organized and walked too fast for the majority of travelers. Not very informative and on boat and train stops no information offered.
