A full day out at three wineries with lunch in the middle of the day and a great host driving us for the entire trip. All three wineries were local businesses who were very hospitable and knowledgeable, the food at lunch was in a great setting by the Douro. Recommended.
We were a group of four from the US (NY and NJ) who met four others, a couple from Texas and two ladies from Australia on our fun adventure. We had a blast and thought our tour guide and driver George did a great job. He was professional, knowledgeable and had good stories to share. He encouraged us and we had a great time talking, tasting wines and learning about the different varieties of port and the history of the Douro Valley. We enjoyed the Quinta Sears d'Ordens and the town of Pinhao, as well as our stopover in Amarante to visit Sao Goncalo. Lunch was nice and not rushed. All in all a fun trip and great day with other fun loving people who wanted to learn more about wine and port.
Wonderful day with great food, wine, scenery and people. Our guide Antonio was very informative and made the tour very enjoyable. We were a group of 4 couples which was a perfect size for this type of tour. We started with morning pastries before visiting 3 wineries and enjoying a great riverside lunch. Then we ended the day with a mountaintop view of the Douro Valley we had explored all day.
Outstanding tour. We booked 7 tours over two weeks in Lisbon and Porto, and this one was the consensus best tour we did on our entire trip. Antonio was our guide/driver, as well as the company owner. He went the extra mile on everything. The food and wine tastings were top-notch, and the sights were amazing. Cannot praise this experience enough. Must-do.
Beautiful area to visit. Our tour guide was nice but I felt that we did not get enough information regarding the area we were visiting, some of the answers were left unanswered, I was expecting bit more from our expert.
This tour was great! Super accommodating and helpful. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and did everything to make sure we had an amazing time. He succeeded!
This tour was listed as a small group tour, but my wife and I were the only ones on it. Beatriz was our most knowledgeable and charming guide for the day. Her knowledge of the area was impressive. I highly recommend this tour, and especially Beatriz!
Places visited and itinerary were top notch and well thought out / curated. It was obvious that the tour had been arranged by someone with real expertise in this area. The day was a good mix of wines in the region as well as local produce. Took off one star as driving by tour guide was quite dangerous especially on a day / evening with heavy rain. Would advise the squeamish to request safer driving which is the only reason why my review is not 5 stars.
