Stop At: Old Town Square, Staroměstské nám., 110 00 Praha 1-Staré Město, Czechia
Meet your guide in central Prague at Old Town Square and board on a private bus to Terezín Concentration Camp. On the way, learn about Terezín’s past as a 18th-century fortress, and how, in WWII, its walled garrisons were converted into a Nazi concentration camp. Hear how the rail line your train is following is the very same one used during the war to transport Jewish people to the complex.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Terezin Memorial, Principova alej 304, Terezin 411 55 Czech Republic
Your tour focuses on Terezín’s Main Fortress, the part of the camp that became a ghetto for Jewish people from across Europe. Walk through the gate emblazoned with arbeit macht frei or 'work sets you free', and take a guided tour around the grounds and buildings that mark the horrors that took place here.
Hear how an estimated 35,000 people perished in Terezín, and learn about the conditions endured by those incarcerated here. See the barracks, prison cells and Jewish prayer room, and view the former SS camp headquarters and guards station.
As you walk, listen to the story of how Terezín was presented to International Red Cross monitors as a vibrant Jewish community, with leisure facilities, shops and theatre and music shows. Learn about this cruel farce and how, despite unspeakable suffering, many Jews managed to keep hope alive. Explore the museum that tells some of the prisoners’ stories and displays drawings made by some of the children. Watch a Nazi propaganda film about the camp, and walk around the moving Jewish cemetery, crematorium and columbarium. While visits here can be distressing, your guide will provide sensitive commentary throughout.
Duration: 6 hours
Stop At: Old Town Hall, Staroměstské nám. 1/3, 110 00 Praha-Staré Město, Czechia
Afterwards, travel back to central Prague by private bus, where the tour ends where it starts (5 - 10 min walking distance from Old Town Square).

Very good tour and extremely informative. Would recommend to anyone but is a lot of walking involved. I am fine with it but any e who struggles with walking may be advised.
While it was a very heavy, emotional day, given the site, we still had a “great” time. Tijo was an excellent guide. He made sure we understood the gravity of the experiences and lives at Terezin. It was fascinating, humbling and very well done.
Our tour guide, Brian, started the tour promptly at 10 AM. He was very informative; however, he moved the tour very quickly. There were many interesting exhibits on the art, music, and literature at Terezin, but we did not have much time to look at the work. Also only 20 minutes were allotted for lunch. It would have been helpful to know that we could bring our own lunch. We covered both the small and large fortress. Overall, a very educational tour.
This tour was pretty much a disappointment. Not the camp itself, which was moving and arresting and full of information, but the way the trip was handled. There were at least two incredibly tasteless “jokes” during the tour - one from a passenger who asked if the group photo was to identify us in case we died on the tour, and another from the guide about giving everyone numbers in the future to keep track of us. I asked, and the company/guide, Brian S., had no plan for how to handle such offenses, not even announcing behavioral expectations at the beginning of the tour. The group was far too large, ~30 people when it should have been at least half. The info Brian provided was mostly relevant and interesting but not always well-conveyed (i.e., his explanation of how WWI started) and he sometimes seemed to have trouble showing us around (i.e., at the start of the museum portion of the tour). I’d definitely recommend visiting this site, but not with this tour company or guide.
Brian Stewart was a wonderful guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Terezin, particularly during the period of the twentieth century. The anecdotes he told about the inmates of the ghetto during the Nazi regime made the visit extremely moving. Wear good shoes during this tour there is a lot of walking! And bring lunch or a snack. Very worthwhile journey.
This is an excellent, highly educational tour. It was one of the highlights of our time in Prague.
All we can say is the tour is very well worth the time and money! Our guide for the day, Terry, was one of the most knowledgeable tour guides weve had. And very personable and passionate about what she is talking about. We did not take many pictures as we did not want to take away from the actual visit and the information being given. A few hints...pack a small but light lunch/snacks and water, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Not too many places to get something as you are constantly moving throughout the Terezín area.
