Very nice tour. Everyday wine tasting coupled with visiting all the lovely places was a delight. Very well planned and well managed. however I noticed that, all the hotel bookings were done in modern hotels. I guess people from all over the world come to visit the history and culture of Tuscany for this tour. If such experience can be attained in the stay as well it will be very nice.
We greatly enjoyed our tour. The places that we visited were amazing. The tour was well organized. Our only criticism is that our guide was difficult to understand at times due to her Italian accent. We had a great group and this enhanced the experience. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Information on website regarding tour was different from what we actually did. Information about pick up at hotels was incorrect. Difficult to contact tour agency. Tour guide was very sweet but difficult to understand. She had a very soft voice and didn't always understand questions, perhaps due to her knowledge of English. Tour guide in La Speza was excellent. Driver was great.
I took this tour with my daughters in July. Maria was our very capable guide. Our bus could commodity 40, but we were an international group of about half that number, so we each had plenty of room to relax between stops, enjoy the scenery and even nap! We visited many iconic sites, including Pisa, but the real fun was at the wine tastings! Over the course of our trip, we visited both in town tasting rooms and countryside vineyards for wine and refreshment. Without this tour I would never have know about the perfect little town of Pienza, unchanged since the 14th century and stunning, or Siena which hosts a citywide horse race annually. We saw the flags of different neighborhoods and even witnessed a parade through the Piazza. Rough seas did not permit stops at some of the Cinque Terre villages, but we were impressed by the views from the ports we did visit especially in Portovenere. We even squeezed in a bit of beach time in Monterosso. You can't keep Jersey girls from the beach! On our final day Mossimo, our driver, did a fantastic job of negotiating the tiny winding roads to the marble fields of Carrara. After holding our breath for the climb up the mountain, we all gave him a well earned ovation. It was worth the journey to see the gloriously white rock being mined and transported down those same terrifying routes. Our last stop was perhaps our favorite. At Montecarlo di Lucca we visited our final vineyard and were served in an arbor. Not only the wines, but the balsamic vinegar and the olive oils were excellent. We feasted before our drive back to Rome. Maria helped us with directions to the train station as we departed the bus. She couldn't have been more helpful. His was a great value and I would most definitely use Viatour again.
