Stop At: Rainforest Adventures, Route 32 Next to Braulio Carrillo National Park, 45 mins from San José, Guapiles 70101 Costa Rica

After hotel pickup in San Jose (if selected), drive northeast through coffee plantations and farmlands. Your route takes you along Braulio Carrillo National Park, a untouched wonderland of waterfalls, rivers and dense rainforest. About an hour later, reach Rainforest Adventures Costa Rica Atlantic, an ecotourism reserve. A private sanctuary spanning 1,174 acres (475 hectares), Rainforest Adventures shares a 6-mile (10-km) border with Braulio Carrillo and serves as a buffer between the park and agricultural lands. Your 6-in-1 pass gives you a flurry of activities to enjoy the animal and plant life thriving in the rainforest.

I loved this tour. It was well worth the month. I was picked up at my San Jose Hotel and driven about an hour to the rainforest. First, we did zip lining. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and I felt safe the entire time. It is a very beautiful area to be zip-lining through. I paid an extra fee to rent the helmet with a GoPro and was able to buy the videos afterwards. They also had a photographer taking photos which I was also able to purchase. After zip lining, there was a air tram that took us through the rainforest. This was a pleasant way to see the beauty of the rainforest. Then, we had a lunch of chicken, salad, rice, pasta and vegetables. Finally, the guide took me on a nature walk. My favorite part was the butterfly garden. Overall, this was a fantastic tour and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the Barulio Carrillo area in an efficient and exciting way.

Ok as someone with serious height and depth phobias it was a struggle to book and the only thing that kept me was the fact that I pasted the refund deadline. Leading up to the zip-lining part I was terrified but I had came to Costa Rica solo on a mission to be spontaneous and adventurous. After the initial nervousness of the taking the first step off the platform, I had an amazing time. Once I started zip-lining a calmness took over my body and I was able to look around and enjoy the moment. This is credited to the staff that were oh so comforting and understanding. Also the photography, I'm really bad with names, she was the sweetest. Also not once did I ever scare about the safety ness, it was double-lined and harnessed securely. So if anyone is like me scared of rollercoasters and etc. but want to face your fears. I think this is the experience for you. Now I will not sell a fairytale. The lines get longer and higher being that there are 11 but as you conquer one line you feel better and better. I never thought in a million years I would do something like this, I'm still surprised. One last thing, anyone who does this please rent a helmet with the gopro. I was fortunate to do so and it was amazing to have the footage of this once in a lifetime experience. Zipline experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend! The tram was pretty boring but it was included so it was fine. There is also multiple exhibits like butterflies and snakes that were cool, and the lunch buffet was great.
