Make your own way to Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that surrounds Mt Teide, one of Spain’s tallest volcanoes located at the heart of Tenerife.

As you travel up the volcano’s winding roads, admire the breathtaking red and ocher-hued rock in the fading light. Then, on arrival at the prearranged meeting point, join up with your expert guide and prepare to embark on a fascinating journey through the night sky.

Through the lens of a professional, long-range telescope, gaze up at twinkling constellations, faraway galaxies and awe-inspiring planets. Depending on planetary alignments, you may spy the rings of Saturn and Jupiter’s many moons.

Listen to your guide’s insightful commentary to discover more about star clusters and otherworldly sights as you peer through your telescope’s eyepiece. If weather conditions make it difficult to see the stars, watch in amazement as your guide uses state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment to provide a virtual tour of the inky sky.

After roughly 45 minutes, your stargazing experience concludes. Bid your guide and group a fond farewell, and then make your own way back to your accommodation.

We were expecting maybe too much out of this experience. Ofcourse it was very cold and we had thought there might be some sort of 'observatory' arrangement. This was not the case so we froze a little, despite being warmly clothed. The fact that we had a talk which went on a bit and then had to queue for the sightings was OK but not great. Maybe could do with being a better organised 'experience'. Long drive there and back for not a lot.
