Meet your guide at La Moneda Palace in the Plaza de la Constitución to kick off your 4-hour tour of Santiago that pairs sumptuous food tastings with incredible city views. You’ll travel by foot and take the metro to visit markets and historic neighborhoods.

In La Alameda, pass by the Iglesia San Francisco and Teatro Municipal. Stroll through Plaza de Armas and admire the Metropolitan Cathedral and Correo Central, the old post office.

Our first stop will be at one of the best local restaurants we know, who produce mouth-watering new Chilean cuisine. The menu changes every day, so let us surprise you with your dishes!

Next, walk to La Vega Central, a crowded and chaotic market known for the fresh produce that thrives in Chile’s mild climate and varied terrain. Pass by peaches, raspberries and custard apples, as well as healing potions and household items; all kinds of goods can be found here.

Our Santiago tour is then going onwards and upwards — literally! We’re taking the Funicular to the top of Cerro San Cristobal. At the top, you’ll have the best view of the city, so keep that camera handy. You’ll want to show off your awe-inspiring photos to everyone back home, right?!

We’ll finish up our Santiago tour in the bohemian Bellavista neighbourhood. A place full of life and arts and crafts. Before you go, don’t forget to ask your local guide for tips on what else to see, do and eat during your stay

Our guide was Flo. She was a lovely, nice, informed and overall great guide to have. The walking tour is very nice and to important spots in Santiago. The food was high quality and enjoyable. The markets were very interesting. I do recommend this tour and ask for Flo. She is great!

Though pleasant, our guide lacked basic knowledge of Chilean cuisine. For the amount we paid, I would've expected to get some kind of history, context, cultural norms, etc. Instead we got someone walking us long distances to different locations with very little commentary. The highlight was interacting with the other people on the tour. The food itself was basic and we even had to pay for our own water! I would've at least expected a complimentary drink with lunch. I would save my money and walk around the markets alone, you learn about the same.

What a treat to tour Santiago with Juan Pablo! His insight into the local history, architecture, culture and food was generous and diverse. The tour amply satisfied our stomachs and interests.

You Need to re-write the description of this tour. We took the City’s Free walking tour on the first day of our arrival. It was about 5 hours. Without the food tasting. So therefore when we went on Viator tour... it was a repeat. Pretty much our highlite was the pisco sour. We sat down at 2 restaurant. First to eat an empanada. Then to another restaurant to eat the corn pie which was a famous food within Chile. Way too sweet for most of us. Only one person finished it. Then we went to a park where we took a lift to see a view of Santiago. Filo, our tour guide purchased a drink call moto con huesillo a sugar syrup drink with wheat and barley at the bottom. So sweet.,,,!!!!!!!! . We felt this food tasting tour was overpriced and did not educate the food in Santiago. We could of seen how some of our items were made esp. the corn pie and the drinks.

I booked this to fill some free time at the end of a business trip. Overall a very enjoyable tour - Nicholas our guide was friendly, engaging and enthusiastic, really enjoyed the time with him. The small size of the group makes a big difference too. We enjoyed a visit to the central market - nice as we saw a good chunk of ordinary Santiago - for a delicious seafood empanada and pisco sour the best of the 5 I had on this trip!, then trendy Bella Vista and Lastarria firstly for gelato, then a lunch of traditional Chilean food. We were then left at a small market area with more shops and restaurants. Overall a very enjoyable 4 hours. The only negative I have and Nicholas was very apologetic about this and adapted the tour to compensate, so I don't hold him to blame! is that as I went on a Monday, the trip up San Cristobel Hill was not possible as the cable car etc. are closed on Monday. Viator should make this clear on the listing - I didn't see anything to warn me of this.

Nicholas was a great guide. We enjoyed the conservations, the history and the explanations of the food and history of the marauders. He was helpful with the Metro, which we took between markets. Tastings , including lunch, were fabulous. Highly recommend this tour.
