Stop At: Feira de Arte e Artesanato, Largo 21 de Abril e Centro Historico Centro, Embu das Artes, State of Sao Paulo Brazil

The Embu settlement, later city of Embu das Artes, was one of the first to be founded in Brazil in the 16th century.  The peaceful town would start to change in 1920, when an international recognized painter moved to Embu. Afterwards, Embu started receiving an influx of artists and hippies that in the late 60s started the tradition of “Open Art Fairs” that persist in the weekends and holidays until nowadays. Finally, in 2011, Embu officially changed name to Embu das Artes. If you also want to know more about the history and art of Brazil, you will love the city’s museums, churches and memorials, such as the Museum of Sacred Art, the São Lázaro Chapel, and yet the 17th-century Church of Our Lady of the Rosary.
