Description of the itinerary
To find out roots of Georgian cuisine and history our guests will start their day tour with visiting Georgian State Museum of local folk and Applied Art. Museum houses rich collection of Caucasian ethnographic rugs and carpets. There you will have opportunity to see ancient items which were in residential use. In the special show room our guest will see the traditional methods how “qvevris” (clay pots), carpets, and other household items were made by locals.
Farther continue way to Open Air Museum of Ethnography which encompasses 14 ethnographic zones. It is located Near the Turtle Lake, just 15 minute driving from Georgian State Museum of Georgian folk and Fine Art. Here, each exhibit presents a certain historic-ethnographic area of Georgia. Together with architectural monuments, the museum presents ethnographic materials - different kinds of tools, textiles, and ceramics. The museum also includes the 5th-6th century basilica of Sioni, as well as a rich collection of grave stones in relief.
Afterwards driving directly to experience Georgian traditional meals. Master class will be leaded by professional sheaf, who will accompany our guests.
You will make most popular Georgian dishes: Khachapuri (cheese pie), Khinkali (Georgian dumpling), and Eggplant and Spinach salad with walnut paste.Georgian Khachapuri with fatty and soft cheese has come in the 3rd place in the world among other dishes prepared with cheese. Many regions have created their own versions of Khachapuri. Most famous are Imeruli Khachapuri and Adjaruli Khachapuri.
Khinkali, which originated in the high Caucasus, are traditionally stuffed with lamb or mutton, but down here in the lowlands, pork or a mixture of pork and beef is the norm. For vegetarians there are dumplings made by mushrooms and potatoes.
At the end of the master class our guest would taste their work and find out the true taste of Georgia.
When the muster class is over due to the wish of our guests one can visit Narikala fortress by cable car and bath quarter.
