Day in the Life of Venice Daytime Tour (3 hours)Start your tour and get a brief background how to see Venice through a photographer's eyes. With its bustling squares and canals, the city offers delights and challenges to photographers of all skill levels, with wonderful yet often fleeting photo opportunities at every turn.

Discover how to ‘spot’ good pictures as you explore the main squares and canals, and seek out hidden corners tucked off the main tourist trail. Notable stops include the bustling Mercerie shopping district and the Rialto markets, a daily jumble of fish, fruit and vegetable stalls favored by the locals that serves up an ever-changing tableau of color and activity.

Ask your guide to stop anywhere that fires your imagination, and get tips on using lighting and composition to create drama and record Venice's magical atmosphere. Your guide will also help you explore techniques such as reportage photography, and explain the best ways to approach people to catch their spontaneous expressions and interactions.

Lastly, visit St Mark’s Square. Walk around and discover how to record its beauty and palpable sense of history on camera, before saying goodbye to your guide.

Sunset Tour (3 hours)Meet your guide in the mid-afternoon or evening depending on the time of year, and start your private tour. Learn how Venice presents all levels of photographer with wonderful opportunities at dusk, when the fading light and darkness reveal different sides of the city.

Visit some places featured in the daytime tour, plus locations that come into their own at twilight, such as the Bridge of Sighs and the edges of the Venice Lagoon. Get all the tips on composition, lighting and photographic styles as on the daytime tour, and learn how to capture brilliant evening scenes such as the sunset, the city's lights reflected in the canals, and more.

Especially in the summer months or when the cruise ships arrive, Venice is known to be crowded with tourists which makes getting into popular places, or even photographing them difficult. Unless you want photos of people standing in front of the best sights taking selfies. We signed up for this photography walking tour with the hope the guide could show us the best spots to get pictures away from the crowds and give us a hands on experience. Our expectations were exceeded. Vin took us away from the crowded central part of Venice showing us the back streets and canals where the people live. While giving basic photography tips such as composition and camera settings, he told stories of how the city evolved and what it is like to live in the city. If you want a small group, hands on experience, this is for you. Lots of walking is involved over the three hours. This one tour will net you the 10,000 steps you seek.
