Your driver will greet you at your hotel lobby in 18:30. We take you directly to the theater, you will enjoy the Shaanxi Opera, the Shadow play and the Huayin Laoqiang for about 2 hours. During the show, you can enjoy some snacks and drink tea free of charge.

Shaanxi Opera

Shaanxi opera is China's oldest opera, is based on the Ancient Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia area folk song and dance on the gradual development of formation, is characterized by a simple, bold, exquisite, and penetrating, exaggerated style. Because it is produced in the folk, so can vividly reflect the aspirations of the people, love and hate, pain and joy, reflecting their life and struggle, which has deep roots. Some have even proposed to enlist Shaanxi opera as an "Intangible World Heritage."

Shadow Play

Shadow Play is an ancient form of storytelling and entertainment using opaque figures in front of an illuminated backdrop to create the illusion of moving images. You can not only enjoy the character images, but also some lovely animals such as monkeys. The principle and methods of shadow performance adopted by the shadow puppet played an important leading role in the invention of the modern movie and the development of the movies and cartoons. Nowadays, the Chinese shadow puppet plays have been collected by the museums of many countries in the world; meanwhile they are the best presents sent by the Chinese governmental leaders for their foreign counterparts.

Huayin Laoqiang

Huayin Laoqiang, is a kind of performance of Shadow play, it's formed in Ming dynasty and more violent than the Shadow play. Usually, one person sing in a sonorous voice and other sing Tuoqiang to help him. The Huayin Laoqiang has rich outstanding historical and cultural value in China, and has been selected to the first batch of state-level non-material cultural heritage list.
